In Memoriam
Ivan Levy – Valued JHGC committee member, an attorney by profession, was the CEO of Levy, Feinstein & Associates Inc, one of the city’s leading law firms.
Ivan was involved in extensive pro bono work for many organisations including serving as honorary legal adviser to MaAfrika-Tikkun, the SAJBD, Operation Hunger and the To Life Charitable Trust.
Levy was a stalwart campaigner against antisemitism and made both his own professional skills and the resources of his firm freely available in this regard.
Dr Jocelyn Hellig, an honoured Johannesburg Holocaust & Genocide Centre founding committee member passed away in late 2008.
She leaves a void in the country at large and for us in particular in the field of Holocaust education. We will miss Jocelyn’s wisdom, knowledge, support and friendship that she always shared so generously.
