||DRAWINGS OF GENOCIDE
On exhibition In South Africa for the first time will be a collection of drawings by Darfuri children who escaped war-torn Sudan and have been living in refugee camps in neighbouring Chad. The exhibition is on loan from Waging Peace, a non governmental organisation based in London which campaigns against genocide.
An ancillary programme will run in parallel with the main exhibition which will include an exhibition of local children's art and facilitated school visits in partnership with the Frank Joubert Art Centre in Cape Town.
The event will close on the evening of the 27th August with a one-night concert by the internationally renowned Jewish-Norwegian performing artist, Bente Kahan. Her performance is dedicated to conveying Jewish-European culture and history through drama and music.
